How long do treatments take?

The first session is approximately one hour. Follow up treatments are 45 minutes to one hour. Please arrive 20 minutes early for first appointment to make sure all paperwork has been prepared and signed, and 10 minutes early for follow up appointments

What can I expect?

The first appointment includes a detailed medical intake, which includes observation of skin, complexion, emotional affect, pulse and tongue. Additionally, Eric will do a brief session with needles so that he can observe how you respond to acupuncture needles. After your appointment, he will devise a treatment plan. If this includes Chinese herbs, Eric will provide a formula either at the first or second appointment. Patients seeing Eric for pain usually leave after the first or second appointment noticing a reduction in symptoms and/or stiffness and improved mobility. Follow up appointments involve checking in on your progress, and a treatment may include acupuncture, cupping, medical massage and herbal medicine as appropriate for your condition.

How long will I need to be treated?

Eric will discuss with you the number of sessions he determines to be necessary for treatment of your particular pain or other condition. Most pain and/or orthopedic conditions, require a minimum of 6 to 8 weekly sessions, some less, some more. As you experience improvement in your symptoms, sessions may be spaced further apart and depending upon your condition, whether chronic or acute, Eric will discuss whether a maintenance plan or a come as needed approach to further treatment is advised. For chronic and longstanding conditions, Eric may advise a significantly longer regular term of treatment including less frequent visits, particularly when Chinese herbs are prescribed.

Can I fill out paperwork prior to my visit?

Please print and fill out the following paperwork to fill out prior to your first appointment. If you are unable to print, please arrive at the office about 20 minutes before your appointment to fill out and sign paperwork.
